Legal Services
At Sarah Stewart Family Law, I understand that family law matters can be emotionally and financially challenging. I am dedicated to providing practical, clear and cost-effective legal solutions that help you achieve the best possible outcome. Whether you’re navigating separation, divorce or seeking advice on parenting matters, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Property Division
I have extensive experience in complex property settlements and financial disputes, including matters involving corporate entities and trusts. I am highly skilled in mediation and negotiation, and I pride myself on achieving cost-effective and pragmatic outcomes. I am a confident and capable advocate who regularly appears for clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
Parenting and custody disputes
Decisions about your children during a separation can feel emotional and complex. With compassion and expertise, I provide personalised guidance aimed at helping you understand the process for negotiating parenting arrangements and the options available with a focus on achieving amicable and child-focused parenting outcomes where possible.
Consent Orders
Implementing consent orders ensures secure, enforceable agreements for property division and parenting arrangments. When parties agree on property and/or parenting matters, an application for consent orders reflecting that agreement can be prepared and filed with the court. In most cases, court orders will be made without the need for either the parties or practitioners to attend court saving both time and money.
Financial agreements
(including pre-nups)
Protecting your financial future starts with a clear plan. Financial agreements, including pre-nuptial agreements, offer a sensible and practical way to safeguard assets like property and business interests in the event of a relationship breakdown.
Divorce
Divorce is a separate matter to property and parenting proceedings. I provide guidance and advice on your divorce, including efficiently preparing your divorce application and appearing in Court with respect to your divorce application when required.
